Cadillac: A New Era

To introduce the new Cadillac EV range to Australia and New Zealand, these films were designed to reconnect audiences with the brand’s rich heritage while signalling its electric future.

The audience is transported from utopian visions of 50s and 60s Cadillac life – inspired by vintage print ads and press cuttings – into the modern interiors of the new LYRIQ, VISTIQ and OPTIQ. To honour the reference materials, I created a 3D collage effect to navigate through the opening scenes.

The lighting was also inspired by the vintage print ads, where matching background colours and bodywork was prevalent from the mid Fifties through to the Seventies.

The general approach for the camera was to create a weightless 'moon exploration’ of the cars’ features. Treating the vehicles as objects of desire and giving the audience the luxury of time to appreciate the Cadillac DNA. The cars’ impressive head light and rear light sequences also created motivation for the camera’s movement.

The soundtrack, a reimagined version of “I Only Have Eyes for You” by The Flamingos (1959), evolves alongside the visuals — beginning with 50s romanticism and gradually transitioning into contemporary synth textures — mirroring Cadillac’s journey from heritage to innovation.
